County/town check in? My wife's only requirement was to be here for presents so I'll be hunting mid day through sunset in Nolan County.. Merry Christmas to everyone and here's one for all of us trying to get the Christmas buck!

This is the first Christmas morning in a very, very long time that I have not hunted. Luckly it was so foggy I could not have seen 50 yards. Still foggy now. I will try to hunt this afternoon.

I hope this evening is good colt! I put out a couple mock scrapes yesterday evening with some tinks doe in heat (thanks for the advice pitchfork). Really wanted to go this morning but the kids and presents were amazing so hopefully I get my first buck this evening to top off a great Christmas! The way it's been going they'll probably even check scrapes at night!? Lol

Went this morning and nothing. Did have to stop in the middle of the road on my way home as I had to let 9 doe slowly stroll across the road in front of me

Headed back to Llano in a little while. I've already filled my deer quota on the lease, but we'll hang out and relax and maybe find some pigs and doves.

Same thing happened to me last night, seen nothing during my sit.. Pull out from land and 4 doe in the middle of the road. I just laughed.. Lol

We will not be going up to the lease until Sunday evening. I like to give the landowners their private time with their family and for them to do some hunting without worrying about us being on the place. We have it all hunting season but I think they should have their place to themselves during the holidays. Good luck all this weekend.

Sat this evening in 84 deg temps. Saw 3 young bucks late after sundown. Not much moving in this heat right now.

Starting to feel like Ground Hog Day the movie..

We had planned to leave for the panhandle today and stay until Sunday but with the blizzard warnings up there along with the 40 plus mph winds we decided against it. Supposed to stay cold all next week so now our plan is to go up next Thursday and stay until the 3rd.

Well I didn't see anything yesterday evening but I ended up getting there a little late. Have to work today, when I get off I'm headed to Kent County.. Can't wait to see what Sunday is like in the first blizzard of the year!? Worried about the wind..
