Does anybody hunt between Sonora and rocksprings? Looking at leasing 6000 acres between me and my best friend, what caliber of bucks are in the area and any exotics? The place is on hwy. 55 and pretty close to the A&M research facility!

140-150 possible but the neighbors gotta have good relationships and a management plan. Exotics highly likely

I would think with 6000 acres it's big enough to ameliorate the neighbors management practices. A lot will depend on previous management.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

The AG station used to feed their deer. It was low fence so their deer can roam. Good people to know and super knowledgeable about management and local, natural, deer food. Just ask around and try to find out the last time they had an anthrax break out in the area though.

No anthrax in a few years i hunt all around that area. Quality Whitetail lots of Axis and occasional other exotics if place was at least a bit managed.

I offer primarily free range hunts and also preserve hunts on 1 million acres across west and southwest Texas for native and exotic game.
