He does have the wow factor but he is not as big as some of you think. He was not a big bodied deer and his small neck make his antlers look even bigger. His long G2s and G3s made him look huge when I saw him with his head up. His left G2 is 16 6/8, right is 14 2/8. His left G3 is 13 2/8, right is 13 1/8. After we got over the wow factor and looked him over we guessed he would push 160 gross. I have roughed him out and he is 163" gross. His long tines make him a great buck! Dude, I think you missed a measurement. He's bigger than 160. His tines are just as big as I thought they were.

If he only has 90" of mainbeams, mass and spread then adding in the G1's,2's and 3's ONLY will give you close to 160. That does not include the 4's and NT point. You have posted 57 3/8" of 2's and 3's alone. That is 147 as a 6 point. He still has 5 points to add into that 147 or so total. I think he has from 75-80" of tines. Then add in the frame. Tremendous buck not matter what he scores. Post up all your numbers if you don't mind so we can see what we missed our guesses on Here are the numbers. Untitled by wfhunter, on Flickr

Very deceiving. Still an amazing deer, and it's refreshing to see someone score a deer properly. Well done.

I keep coming back and looking at this one....awesome deer.
Regardless of score, he's an amazing trophy......but I would double check measurements - he sure looks bigger!

still an awesome deer sir
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

For some. I have been waiting 61 years to kill a deer like that and it has yet to happen

I took about 50 pics of him and in all of them his antlers looks really big! Even in the ones with me and other objects and people in the photos that would give a size perspective. I guess maybe because of his small body size, age and it was dark, and he is surrounded by black, it makes his antlers look huge! I quartered him up shortly after before the storms hit and got him on ice. I have not taken any more pics of just his head and antlers in the day light. All I can say is that in the moment I saw him raise his head and wave it around (120 yards), I wasted no time watching him and trying to analyze him as I have all the other nice bucks I have passed the last 10 years. I knew to shoot him. It was almost dark, but not too dark to see him good through the binos and scope. He was very skittish and 1 second from bolting back in the brush if something spooked him. At that moment my heart was instantly pumping and he looked 180” to me too!!! I shook for 30 minutes! It was a great feeling that I had not felt in years!
Just to philosophies for a moment like ole Augustus McCray, most of us on here know hunting is not just a hobby to us, it is a way of life that goes on every day that we breathe! Me and my old buddies don’t hunt near as hard as we did back in our 20s -30’s but we are doing something with hunting and fishing all year long. Now deer camp is more laid back and we look more forward to our big breakfast and what we are going to cook for dinner! Our boys, now in their late twenties are shooting most of the bucks. If either one of them, or my buddy had been with me at that moment I would have gladly let them take the shot. As it turns out, it was my turn and it felt good!!!
Thanks everyone for the nice comments

Ok we know the score, now let's talk age. I'm guessing 4.5. That means you should have let him go and get bigger next year...
Kidding... Very nice. Will you be more specific than North Central Texas? Maybe a county?

Why do yall want to know where it was killed so bad. If I was the op I certainly wouldn't tell now because I'd be suspicious about why yall are so interested.
Once again hell of a deer. I would've thought it scored way higher too but who cares on score when its that impressive. Thats a monster

I guess you used the typical score form and not the non typical? Truly outstanding buck once again. I have never seen a whitetail with a 16 inch tine, it just blows me away.

Feel free to post some more of him! Awesome to look at. Also, what is the deer lift on your ATV? Did you manufacture or buy that?
