Can someone answer if this is possible or they do it.. Its nice to have a cell phone with me, even though service is not good. The phone seems to search alot and drain the battery.
Is it possible to connect a battery, like a house alarm battery to an invertor and charge my cell phone slowly, when needed???

Get a car (12v) charger, a 12v deep cycle battery and a solar panel to keep it charged.

Just buy a Jockery, works like a champ That's what I use. The 12 volt battery with solar panel would work most likely. I think I will try it next week with feeder batteries. Anyway...

No, (I can't believe I'm saying this) Sniper's solution is much better, costs much less, requires less maintenance, and costs about 10% of what I suggested.
Go with Sniper's suggestion. I'm buying one for the RV.
Sorry Sniper.

And leave it in the truck. If you have service it can be a life saver.

Coming from the man who watches TV while he hunts. I don't know about you but I already have multiple feeder batteries and a few solar panels at home I think I might try and put something together. I am posting this from the blind BTW.

Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and gps. That will save a lot of battery life. Then just grab one of those battery packs Sniper recommended. Works great.

I have a Mofie Case for mine, the case it self will hold charge equal to 2.5 phone charges and its not very heavy of a case. I was burning through my battery like crazy on calls every day and its changed how I operate.

Depending on your phone, see if it has settings for emergency mode or power saving mode. My phone in emergency mode still has internet and phone access, but shuts down most everything else and shows a battery life of over 17 days fully charged.

If you put it in airplane mode it will dissable everything! If your service is poor then your phone is draining it's power searching for service. Constantly going back and forth from service to no service Is what is killing the battery. If you need to make a call just hit the airplane mode button and then make your call.

If expecting phone calls, get a pocket charger or a charging case. I am currently using a "Phonesuit". I get an average of 30-40 phone calls a day and spend hours of talk time. This gets me through the day with no issues.

I think this is the ticket. And if you need a portable power source to charge it, a quick Google search or a look on Amazon and you will find tons of choices.
