I was going to buy a mallard machine, but it looked like it needed some deeper water. What is the minimum depth required for this thing to work right?

we use these in all of our spreads and they work great. Only motion decoys we use. I have a mallard machine but they can get cumbersome. You have a remote switch you have to operate, you have to hook the decoys up every time. These pulsators you just have to switch them on and go. They can operate in 10-12 inches of water but not much less, you will suck a much of mud and silt in the impellor if any more shallow.

Mine has a control pad that will allow you to barely bump it or push it full throttle. Full throttle is ideal for 3 ft of water, it will look as if the decoys are diving for food. It will still work in a 1ft to 2 ft of water though.

Worth a lick in saltwater? Always curious about this in motion decoys.

Just noticed the Baby mojo and floater combo is on sale for $100 from $160.
I'm really thinking about that mallard machine, but don't know that I need to add more stuff to my spread!

I just bought the pulsator, thanks for the heads up greek. I was going to make one, but I can't be bothered to only save $50, plus I'm sure store bought is little better. But yeah, I'm tired of messing with the jerk string.

But yeah, I'm tired of messing with the jerk string. That damn thing will last 10 years. I have GHG Hen wired to my old one- electrical tape around bottom cap of bilge- damn thing still works. Having 2 to split up hole will be money

I was going to buy a mallard machine, but it looked like it needed some deeper water. What is the minimum depth required for this thing to work right? Can be problem- need about foot or 2. U can wedge motor barely under surface w piece of wood/ brick as well w regular dekes as long as blades don't smack bottom- I also extended my first one ( motor locked up- tossed it other day) w regular low wattage wire for Malibu lights- 12 or 16ga I think
