Ive got a 14 week old Chesapeake Bay that loves to retrieve anything I throw. Ive been giving her a duck wing to retrieve but she wont bring it back and is very aggressive when I try to take it from her. She doesn't act that way when I take anything else from here but with the duck wing shes a different dog. What can I do to break her of this?

First of all she's 14 weeks old so expect some of that from her but don't tolerate it. You have to establish yourself as the pack leader, she needs to know and understand that all birds are yours - her reward is making you happy. Never tolerate aggressiveness from her, just calmly take the wing and if she gets aggressive, put her on her back and hold her down and don't let her up until she quits resisting - she's a Chessie and they can be stubborn, but you'll not find a more loyal dog once you establish yourself as her leader. Calmness on your part is the key, don't lose your temper or get loud or mean. Be direct and don't give up until you win. I think I'd also stop with the wings until you get her to understand her position. Use tennis balls, rolled up socks, something else and quit with her wanting more. Good Luck!

+1 I don't know for sure if it would be to early to do so but you might try working her on the 30 ft. lead with the duck wing that way she has to come back. My lab is over a year old and when we are working on dry ground with a scented duck dummy sometimes she wants to do this. I can make a couple of passes with her on the lead and she will break out of it and start to retreive like she is supposed to. Your dog might be to young for this yet though. Somebody help me out here.
