Our family owns 96 acres in Duval County, about 10 miles south of San Diego. I am also on a 1,000 acre low-fence lease in Starr County. I have been bow hunting our family property twice, but I haven't killed anything yet. We were at the Starr County lease this past weekend feeding and fixing blinds. I haven't done much scouting at the lease, but our 96 acre ranch has a couple of bucks I'm after. I'll be hunting both properties this season. To say that I'm freaking excited is an understatement.
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Im from down there and things look pretty good. My inlaws have just shy of 5k ac in starr by san isidro, and wife has 850ac on the jim hogg starr line just north of diamond o and looks good there as well. Our place in hidalgo has very little deer but with the spring rains, i know a lot of people have said things look promising. I personally think the wt didnt have the dehydration stress and plenty to forage on due to spring/summer rains during their antler growth unlike in previous years.

I hunt in Duval as well, (had a lease in Starr at one time). Captain Luke, we are pretty close to each other. You gotta be pretty close to Gonzalitoz huh? I'm 7.5 miles South of Gonzalitoz (Rios area).

Brother-in-law shot this 8 pointer in Duval County last Tuesday. I also hunted my Starr County lease this past weekend and saw about 10 doe and some fawns but no bucks. Any of you guys seen anything interesting in Starr or Duval?
