Guys,
I got on my lease late so I really only had time and money to get one stand with feeders set up. Last week I found the place I plan to set up my second stand and feeders. I believe it has the potential to be a great place. So here's the question....I'm thinking about spreading out 90lbs of corn on the ground this afternoon and hunting it from the ground. Thoughts?

Forget the corn and go get a 40LB bag or two of Big and J BB Squared. the only reason I say forget the corn is because where I am at they are not currently eating the corn. If they are by you then throw some out also.

Yep put out as much corn as you can over an area you can easily see and shoot from where you want to sit. I would buy a feeder and put in the area as soon as I could afford.

Yep, feeder is just consistent and convenient. If it as good an area you think, may not even need corn for this hunt, but it will help draw in the ladies.

Corn it and hunt. Consider how deer are reacting to your other feeder set-up. If you've yet to see mature bucks at that feeder, may be a good idea to not put one there and to let it be a spot that sits kind of idle and you corn as you hunt.

Get a feeder asap and hand corn before every hunt until then. I've killed more deer from the ground without a feeder then I ever will from a blind.

Secede!!

Corn it and setup a pop-up blind. If it gets good activity, make it permanent later.

I use feeders but have never killed a buck under one and didn't even kill any doe around one the past two years.

Might consider getting some sweet feed from the feed store. Deer love it and it might draw them in quicker.

Take you some loppers and make a quick natural blind. If you can get about 100 yards from the corned area that'd be ideal. like stx said.. get a feeder out there asap. even if it's a cheap bucket type.. just something to get them to that area more frequently.

Thanks Guys! Followed the advice...sitting about 120 yards from the corn back in a little cut out area. So far I've only seen turkey which frankly I'd rather not be seeing cuz they're gobbling up the corn. We are overloaded with turkey.

Didn't see anything but the turkeys. I'm sure if I got a feeder up and fed consistently I'd have deer coming to it.

Broadcasting corn over a large area that you can see will bring more deer out than any feeder will. Try to keep putting it out the day before you hunt if possible. P.s. If you need any help shooting some turkey this spring give me a shout! Lol..
