I have a Ontime Elite with a digital clock. It has reset the time 3 times in the past 10 days. Which when it resets it goes back to 7am and the feed times are 7 and 4pm. I called customer service they said the battery pack or the timer may have a short in it. She said to try installing a 9 volt battery. This will be a direct connection instead of a battery pack. This will eliminate the issue if the problem was the battery pack.

The battery pack takes 10 double A batteries. I have a new battery pack that holds 8 batteries. Will this work also? The 9volt doesn't seem to give the motor very much juice because it only throws about half as fast.

You should be fine so long as the clock shows a good display. Eight batteries in series provides 12 volts, which should be plenty to run the motor as well.

The clock is likely resetting because the battery connections are loose and vibration causes a temporary open circuit, resetting the clock.

Just get a 12 volt battery from Academy and a solar panel to trickle charge it. Probably ten bucks for the battery and twenty for the panel and you're good to go from here on out!

a 6 or 12 volt battery will not fit inside the ontime brand timers.
