I have noticed that with observers, that if a person sees a bigfoot or black panther or whatever, that person becomes a believer and everybody else will make light of it until they may see something. Why can't people just believe in the possibility that something exist when there are eye witness accounts?

I think it is because after years and years of so called "eye witness accounts" nothing else ever comes out of it. Maybe at first people believed. Now it has just become a big joke. After countless hours of searching and investigating no proof can be found. Things or animals that acctually exist are discovered after a while.

Example:

I think I see a strange bird never seen before. I go and tell a few people. The bird is eventually captured and studied by scientist to determine what it is. Same can be said for new insects that are discovered all the time in the rain forest.

I think I see bigfoot. Years and years and years of searching by many scientists and other people produce nothing but BS. I eventually come to the conclusion that Bigfoot does not exist.

I am a skeptic. I have never seen, heard or smelled anything that I thought was Bigfoot. However, I find the subject very interesting and have followed it since about the time of the Patterson/Gimlin sighting in California.

I have watched just about every TV show about Bigfoot. Some are good and some are...well, entertaining. I think the hoaxes and the hucksters have caused problems that often overshadow the truly legitimate Cryptozoology research.

I also think that some of the legitimate researchers appear pretty "strange" on TV and that adds to the struggle to gain credibility.

I think the more compelling evidence is the hundreds of documented sightings from throughout the country and those tend to be found on the serious websites that really are trying to discover an answer.

Go to Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) and you can check every county in every state for reports. It makes for some very interesting reading.

I'm not saying I believe, but I am saying there is some very interesting information to be found there.

These folks believe they saw "something", and I am just open minded enough to say it's possible...

Well said RALPH! There are 100's of reports just here in Texas, that have been well documented and investigated. Surprisingly, most coming from very credible people, and most did see something.

Something is creating the howls, the groans, the bare footprints, the twisted trees, the structure formations, the nests, the smell, and unidentified hair samples! There is more scientific data that supports the fact that there is an "undocumented primate" that inhabits many areas of the country.

People who have an interest, already know that the scientific evidence has produced results that substantiate the fact that something is out there. The only bit of credible evidence that is lacking is the actual specimen. And until such time that specimen is produced, many people including many in the scientific community, will refuse to accept the existence of an undocumented, unknown specie.

Numerous times, the scientific community is taken aback by the discovery of a new and undocumented specie of some kind; either in the national forest, deepest wilderness, or under the sea. Consequently, there is that possibility that a Sasquatch can and does exist.

Since many believe Sasquatch to be nothing but folklore, the hoaxsters abound! But surprisingly, now-a-days, most are found out and very quickly - such as those Georgia Boys this past summer!

There is some very serious research going on to both prove and dis-prove the existence of Sasquatch. Ironically, the pendulum is swinging more frequently to the side of proving the existence of Sasquatch.

I will say, being a life-long hunter and outdoorsman, nothing has been more fascinating and exciting as being involved with this research. I started as a profound skeptic - that changed one evening 6 years ago!

The late, great Mitch Hedberg once said the same thing. One of the simplest, best comedians I have ever heard. Thanks for the laugh.

IF there really is such a thing as bigfoot the introduction of so many trail cameras into the woods will eventually produce a good photo. I'd say give it another 20 years of no trail cam photos and you can conclusively say there is no bigfoot. Heck, you'd think a hunter would have shot one by now!

If I saw a bigfoot, it would most likely be when I was taking a dump.

I would be completely startled, having no choice but to stab it in the neck with a screwdriver and run away without wiping.

Happened to me once before except it was a llama.

Did anyone see last night's episode of "Monsterquest" about the "Fouke Monster"?

I didn't see the entire episode but they are apparently trying some new and different technology.

What was the spray they were using on the river banks?

I agree that the increasing number of trail cameras would seemingly increase the chances of catching a picture and there was at least one that created some interest a year or so back.

Can't remember if it was Pennsylvania or where, but the argument was whether it was a skinny bear or a juvenile bigfoot.

Anyway, as I have said, most of the shows are interesting to watch regardless of your personal beliefs on the subject.
