Trying to decide if I want to get wet or not. Forecast calls for thunderstorms and another inch or two right around go time. It just started pouring here. I just set everything up and I'm waiting in the truck till the last minute. No lightning yet at least

Trying to decide if I want to get wet or not. Forecast calls for thunderstorms and another inch or two right around go time. I am on my leather sectional with a steaming cup of black coffee. We are rolling north this afternoon after the rains quit. Ducktoon was built to keep my bride dry and warm. I do think this was absolute wrong kind of weather to take the boat and my bride out the first time. The first time has to be perfect. Sunday morn partly cloudy, 50 degrees and behind a front. Perfect weather and new ducks should be dropping in. That's how we going to roll.

I don't hunt weekends because the Barney is overloaded with it's name sake on these days. I did get up early this morning though because after the football game @ Bulldog Stadium my wife informed me that I would be getting up early to get my daughter up and on a bus @ the high school by 7:15 for UIL competition down @ Van, Texas and she would be sleeping in so I was up before day break. What little time I was outside; should have been a little after LST, I heard zero shooting.......kind of a shock not to here the 3rd world war being kicked off here @ LST.....I know somewhere out there on the Barney someone has to be seeing some ducks..........

More rain in the other PA (Port Arthur) this morning, light north wind, ducks flying high for the most part, even the teal.

Well I was out on the road going down to the dam this afternoon and saw something I'd never seem before. I saw a full tilt fiberglass bass boat complete with blue metal flake wearing a duck blind. I never though I'd ever see that unless I was in a Walmart parking lot....LOL wish I could have gotten some pics but we were both going to fast........
