Anybody hunt Public lands in Region 4 Dallas/Ft. Worth?
Wondering what kind of luck you have had for the first split of Dove.

I'm just a private land dove hunter. Tried public dove 2005, too much work scouting. Good luck.

Not great experience for first split, i was hunting corn, milo, and wheat up on eastern part of Ray Roberts/Pilot Point area, and not too many good hunts except for Sep 1st, and then plenty of 3 bird kills after that on trips... went out there about 6-8 times, mainly afternoon, some morning...

I went out about 4 or 5 times, most mornings and 1 night, in the royce city area and shot not one bird. That would make sense because I didn't have any opportunities. I am mad I missed opening day. I spoke to some other hunters and they said that after opening week, it died down a lot. I wonder where they went.
