Would something like this be possible or am I crazy. Trying to gauge for next season. Looking to get a private lease with just the 4 families on the land everyone is experienced hunters with 15 plus years of hunting and land management experience. Now that 3 of the 4 families have little kids we would like to take them out with us to show them around and get them into the outdoors. Current lease has become too crowded for my taste and I wouldn't let my children out there as I have seen some questionable ethics with some of the new hunters on current lease. BTW trophy class deer and all that doesn't interest us. Just looking to harvest 8-12 deer per year for the freezer. Hogs and turkey would just be a bonus.

It is possible, but hard to find. I used to have a 425 acre lease between mine and two other families which are close friends. It was great.

Keep looking, and the right thing just might pop up.

within 1 hour of DFW might be tough, expand your area a little more and you'll have a much better chance of finding a property
