First and foremost first only rossi ive ever bough or owned or will own i realize you get what you pay for. I bought a Rossi 243 breakover youth rifle for my son and it will not fire everytime i was shooting cor lokt (dont blame core lokt its all i shoot never had a problem) and some rounds it would fire others it would leave an indention in the primer but not shoot put those same rounds in a TC and they were fine ive googled it and looks like this isnt uncommon with Rossi but every thread says the same Rossi is no help should I ? A: sell it problem known B: take it to a gun smith or C: can someone tell me how to fix it If anyone says A i will definately take offers

I would assume the trip to the gun smith would cost as much as a new Rossi. Probably not worth the investment. Ive read that Rossi hammer faces are often not square and cause the problem, but I have never personally inspected one.

Try spraying carb cleaner in the firing pin hole. Probably to much grease from factory

My pop has 3 of them 1x in .243 and 2x in .223. He has them for the "Grandkids". All of them seem to have the same issue you do. All stikes look to be good and deep, but still do not go off. I can take all the .223 and run them through my AR15 and they fire with no issue. They have been clean as well as I can and still have the issue. My dad is cool with it as he just swaps out the rounds and usually the next one fires or he can pull the round out turn it a bit and then it will fire on the second try. He got really good deals on them so he does not care too much. Good luck and I hope you find a fix.

With Rossi you have to know the age to love or hate.
That being said I'd forget the maker and fix it myself if it were mine.
Without it in my hands it's hard to say how to do that. Not saying I could fix it either but I bet it's not that big of a deal to make it work.
Diagnosis is in order.
Pass the gravy.

I got one for my son when he was little. Not a very good rifle. I had the same problem with his. The problem was the scope was mounted too far back and the hammer was striking the scope. It hit it just enough where the hammer would hit the firing pin, but not fully, firing just part of the time. Check the scope close to the hammer and see if there are any strike marks.
