With the general season opener just a few weeks away, how ready are you to hit the woods Opening Day morning?

Need to clear a few more shooting lanes and re-position my blind for my new feeder location.. Been putting this off every trip but will probably get it done this weekend.

Haven't decided if I'll even rifle hunt this year. Going to move my box stand Friday just in case.

We've done plenty of work, just don't know if all my crap will be organized before I need to leave. And, regular ol' life might get in the way right before opening day.

The place out West stays ready year round since I hunt there year round. The place in East Texas stays ready because I don't put out feeders or cameras and just hunt the easment that runs though it or natural trails.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Barely started. Stand is still under construction at home. Rifle needs to have zero checked. Have had my feeder throwing for about a month though

7 out of 8 feeders running. Need to install one blind that is built. Firewood is cut and gathered. Wasps sprayed in a few stands, need to spray a few more. Rule for next year is put the yellow pest strips in stands in Sept. I only got one done and it worked as they were all dead on the flood but they just moved in this past week. I have not seen the wasps this early in all the stands.

I wonder if this will be another year when I add a stand or two and never hunt them.

I'm ready to go. been ready for 2 months. I live for hunting season. getting ready is merely an excuse to get away with the boys to go goof off.

The season started 3 weeks ago...y'all are all late I do my best to avoid hunting in summertime weather. And that can be hard enough to do during the general season.

I've planted...had someone wasp bomb my stands and really just need to let the place sit idle while everyone else around there has started Corning and hunting. I'm good to go for slipping into a stand opening morning.

Wasps are looking for places to hang out. Feeders are set, most lanes are cleared, oats are planted, firewood cut. Hard to get excited though when Temps are in the mid to upper 90s.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Have to do a little shredder work and clean out a couple box blinds. I bug bombed them last weekend. Feeders have been going since early August will refill them in a couple weeks. My deer are used to activity because we are on the property often.

My deer are used to activity because we are on the property often. I'm very eager to see what difference the level of human activity makes on a tract that just four of us were able to secure in East Texas. The tract did have as many as eight hunters on it during previous seasons, one of which was on it routinely throughout the year. The place has been all but quiet for almost two years now, with nothing more that our rare presence to hang a stand or two and refill a single feeder. We will all be walking more and using ATV's far less than the previous hunters.

I believe in having everything ready to go a month before hand and leave it alone.
I like filling up my 800# feeder a month before so I don't have to disturb things to allow mature bucks to be comfortable.
If I was able to be out there daily, I would manage it differently. They could get used to the activity after a while.
I've found if I can't be out there on a daily basis, I'm better off not disturbing things at all.

Spent the last two months developing and testing a new rifle load, moving a stand, setting up feeders and cameras, clearing brush and branches...the whole bit. Everything is ready. Then I tore my rotator cuff. Doc says I can delay surgery for a little while if I can deal with the pain, but not to do anything that will cause further damage to my shoulder. I can handle the pain, but I don't think I can field dress and load a deer by myself. Talk about really bad timing!
