Just returned from Falfurrias and the quail numbers are phenomenal. No exaggeration, a different covey every fifty yards across the entire 2500+ acres. Can't wait!

Great overall news. Is not reflective of isolated independent populations. On my big lake ranch they are at 2005 levels. They have probably underestimated elsewhere as well.

I've never seen as many covies as I have this year, in west Texas. Every 50 yards or so you'd jump another covey. Driving the roads over a 2 day period I quit counting after about 30 coveys. This is in Dickens cty

We were working on some stands at my buddies property in Coleman he busted 3 coveys just walking to his feeder. We seen a few on the road as well when we left. My place is in Rising Star I haven't seen any this year

I guess with all of this rainfall, the eyeworms were cleansed from the eyes of the quail in Texas.
