Here are a couple of pics of "Cassie" and me dove hunting last Saturday in Central Texas. There are still lots of birds and I filled the bag both days. On one retrieve into tall sunflowers, Cassie overshot the mark, and she flushed over 200 birds (some said it was over 500). One whistle blast sat her to the mayhem, and then a here whistle to snag the mark. The 2.5 years of training, including lots of great work with HRC club members made it happen.

Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Thanks Bill - I wish I had the camera handy when that massive group of dove came out of the sunflower field.

A hunting Golden, and here everyone sez they're non existent. Good looking pooch
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE
