Im on 3500 acres very close to PK lake and im having trouble getting and keeping deer in my area of the lease. There is only one person seeing and killing deer constantly on the land and they dont even use a feeder, just a high traffic area I guess. What can I use as a food attraction that wont spook the deer or just feed the damn hogs and turkeys? No I cant squat their area im kinda stuck where im at.

Use your trail cams to find the food sources they are feeding in and trails to them. If the bucks are there around the does they will leave sign this time of the year. Hunt the food source and the does, you will find the bucks.

I'm have great results using Deer Cain Black Magic powder. There are others, and they might all be the same. You just pour it over a 4 foot area that holds water and let it all mix in and sink into the dirt. I do this about four times a year and it's the one place all the deer go to. The trails are straight to that spot. I put up a game camera there and most of my pictures are of the deer licking the dirt in that spot. It's about $6 at walmart or a buck more on amazon. For such a small amount of money, it's worth trying!!!!

One attractant that has proven to always work, corn. I assume you feed corn, have you tried mixing a powder such as c'mere deer corn coat in with your corn? The 3 day harvest they claim will attract deer or your money back. I know a guy who swears by it and now mixes the 3 day harvest in with his corn.

Your not going to put out an attractant that brings in deer you haven't already seen and if you think you have, trust me, it's a coincidence. I have killed some big bucks that were never seen at the feeders that run rear around and used every type of attractant there is and again, no big bucks were brought in that just magically appeared. Just because you see deer going nuts over these products listed above doesn't mean they are pulling in deer from the neighbors side of the fence. I have used that B&J and yes, when the deer find it, usually in an area where you have already seen deer, they will gobble it up as will every other critter on your place. Once again, save you money from buying all this magical mythical crap and get yourself a good deer lease in the right area. Your not killing big deer where they don't exist, grow, etc... and no amount of money can be spent on attractants that will change that.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

You need to find the deer and what they're doing, then make a plan. Nothing will attract them from a mile or two and hold them in the area if that's not where they want to be.

the cheapest thing that works is plain old rice bran. Not the stabilized rice bran, it works but is more expensive. Call around to feed stores until you find it, $5-$7 per 50# bag and deer love it. All of the commercial products contain rice bran and then their "proprietary" blend is added.

Food and water in a feed pen to keep hogs off. Amen. I've never found anything that will attract deer from afar and keep them in an unsuitable area. Other than a doe in heat or food and water 24/7. All that other stuff attracts way more hunters than it does deer.

We aren’t having trouble with keeping deer around, however, we experimented with some alfalfa and antler max as well as some other sweet feed that I can’t recall around a couple of feeders. The only issue was that they never leave. I ran deer off going to and from the tripod. They were literally there all day and all night on camera eating until its gone. We even put some out 20 yards from of the camp house and had deer there eating at night.
NOTE: The does really hit the alfalfa hard (we haven't had any rain in a long time). The bucks hit the antler max and “sweet feed” more so than the alfalfa.

It may sound crazy but hand scatter corn and sweetfeed pellets over a large area. Very lightly . So deer have to graze to eat it. THey will start using the cover on your place., All it takes is high grass or woods. Good luck.

I will strongly second the rice bran, I use it year round just as an attractant for my camera's. I top dress it with Buck Nut or Sugar Beet Crush.

365 I best feed I have used. Im in far east Texas, deer on my land love it and hogs tend to leave it along. Seen it work with antler growth. I watched a doe and yearling for 30 minutes Sunday evening, they made it to a pile of 365 and never touched corn, acorn rage, chestnut rage, or apples. Best experiment I can share.

I use Indian Corn. The deer love it, and will stay at the feeder longer. All of the colors keep them looking and eating longer. I set up 2 feeders side by side and one had yellow corm, the other had Indian Corn. The deer ate the Indian Corn before the other corn.

I now have the feed store mix up indian corn without red kernels and my deer are much happier. That reminds me, I gotta get out there and pick up all that red cord before it sprouts and I'm covered in useless red Indian corn.
Cast I have a short attention spa
