So more and more lately I have seen Ravens (big sob's, not little crows) on and around my property. The last pig I killed left a big blood puddle, and they were gathered around it sipping it up like they were at a wine tasting. I hear them all the time, and wonder if I need to get rid of them or just treat them like any other bird.
So whats the deal? Any downside to them being around? Any different than the buzzards that clean up our gut pile? Voodoo? Diseased?

Yea thats the kind of stuff I was looking for. I have never seen one of these guys till about 5 yrs ago, all of a sudden they are everywhere I go. See em at work, at home, on the ranch. Maybe I just wasnt looking but then someone said "Shoot every one you see" and hence the question.

Haha...yea like I said, big suckers. Almost as big as the vultures when they are all together, not nearly as ugly though, kinda bad [censored] to be honest. But if there is a reason to get rid of them.....

I do believe that ravens are protected period, just like hawks, you can't kill them.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

Funny how we dislike other predators that are in competition with us, but welcome predators that aren't.

Those Ravens are smart, i can sit in my blind for an hour watching the deer, but we have dead tree by the feeder and a Raven always lands in it and usually within 30 seconds he notices me in the blind and flys off.
