I'm thinking about buying a gun safe. I haven't done very much research on them yet. I was wanting to shorten the list by getting some info from you guys. I really don't know much about the different safe makers, pros/cons, etc...
Thanks fellas

Buy one size bigger then you think you need. They get crowded fast. Cheap ones are no better then a wooden box.

Liberty. That's the only safe we haven't been able to get into at work. I have a 4 of them, wouldn't trust my guns to anything else

Buy once cry once..... There is no wrong decision with a gun cabinet or safe, they typically have great resale so.... You will receive some excellent advice on here, BUT before you buy one I would strongly recommend calling this company (no matter what safe you decide to get) they ARE a custom safe maker and can help YOU make some decisions before you buy one.

Depends on what your budget is. People who say buy once cry once generally have plenty of disposable income. But you can only afford what you can afford. I've been very happy with my cannon. 20 gun safe. Got it for Christmas last year. I think it was $599.

IMO, a decent safe is going to be sufficient to protect your stuff from thieves who will be in and out of your home quickly, as most are. The extra security at a higher price is more for those who live in more isolated areas where thieves can stay longer without detection. A good topic from past discussions focused on which type of lock is best. According to the comments shared, traditional dial/mechanical locks are more reliable, but take longer to open when you need to reach a firearm quickly. Electronic locks offer quicker access, but are less reliable.

Go to Academy or Tractor Supply, they both carry some very good safes for good prices. Look for the highest fire rating. Always get one bigger than what you think you need.
