So I think I finally have my list of options narrowed down. With a Mil discount, in order of most expensive to least, I can get the Leupold Mark 4 ER/T 6.5-20 FFP, SWFA 5-20 non-illumiated reticle, and the Sightron SIII FFP within about 400$ price range. It will be going on a custom 6.5-284 that will be about 75% for shooting steel and 25% for hunting. Wanted to hear what you guys thought about these three and compare them. I'm also fairly familiar with the customer service and warranty quality on the Leupy and Sightron but can't seem to find good info on the SWFA warranty. Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated.

With a Mil discount you can get a discount through Vortex. PM me for more information if you're still looking into Vortex as an option

In order from optics: [list] [*]SWFA SS [*]Sightron SIII [*]Leupold Mark 4
From a rugged standpoint [list] [*]SWFA SS [*]Leupold Mark 4 [*]Sightron SIII -Note, I have not used the SIII FFP, but all things being equal, the SIII chassis is the same.
SWFA offers a limited lifetime warranty on the SWFA SS riflescopes. This covers workmanships and warrants the scope with be free from any manufacture defects. Should you experience any issues, you would work with us directly in having it repair or replaced. Not a third party company.
Also, our warranty does not cover: Loss Stolen Property Or Negligence. Definition, proving to your buddies how tuff it is by running over it. This is not something that we cover. However we do exhibit common sense and understand in the field not everything is an ideal shooting situation. Things get dropped, bumped off of tables and similar scenarios take place. Upon inspection we are able to tell the amount of stress that was applied and can move forward from that point.

I think you've made a good choice. I've compared the first two scopes head to head. Not the sightron. Glass quality was good on both but I felt the SS was better. The MK4 is also reported to have some tracking issues that may or may not be resolved. The SS has never had issues that I'm aware of. My elevation turret had some slop in it and I talked to them about it. SWFA said "bring it in and we will fix or replace it". Turns out I had left the screw loose. My bad.
Edit: Order on the phone and be sure and tell them your from THF. Talk to skylar if you can. You'll be glad you did.

I bought my first SWFA SS about 6 weeks ago. It is a 10x for Savage Precision Carbine in 223. I am really impressed with the glass and the build quality. It certainly feels like a tank. Can't beat them for the price.
