Would some of you let me know what you've been paying for deer protein? I've been buying Producers Choice 20% for about $12.50 per bag by the ton.
Would you let me know if/where protein can be bought at a better price?

I bought 15 bags of 16% this morning for $9.90/bag at L/E Feeds in George West. I think the 20% was $10.75 more or less per bag. Ton price is a bit less.

Are they giving you a discount per ton?

Navasot that's exactly why I'm asking this question. I was under the impression this was supposed to be a discounted price but it sure seems high to me.
I,d really like some more responses!

If I remember correctly, last time I bought protein, it was 9.75 for 16% and 10.75 for 20% per #50 bag. No discount for buying by the ton.

Are you picking up the feed yourself, or having it delivered? We have ours delivered in bulk which is about $400/ton, $.20/lb. That's 20%. If you're buying bagged, by the ton and having it delivered and unloaded by the supplier, then it's going to be a bit higher. We also use L&E out of George West for our corn and protein in bulk.

The one I use to deal with in bulk would do discounts if contracted an amount at the front of the year

Based on the responses I'm assuming your down south. That said I got 20% from FMC in Graham for 11.00/50lb. That's down .50 since earlier this year. Their corn is ridiculous though at 8.00/50.

I pay $20/100 pounds at West Bear Creek Feed Store in Junction. That's bulk price for ACCO 20% I believe. They deliver and fill my feeders with their trailer for $60 per delivery total. Can't beat that since I'm 400 miles away from my place.

Give Fehners Feed in Gonzales, TX a try. I buy it in bulk delivered to out feeders in the field. $318 bulk is what I paid this week and we ordered 7000 lbs - 20%. I believe for bag price it's $8.40 a bag or something like that. I have some friends in Ft.McKavet that order feed from Fehner and they told me yesterday they were in Kerrville delivering feed a few days. This was for some place that raises doves I think.
