Had a good morning the other day before having to come back to work. Spot and stalk hunt, shot the little hog at 7 yards while the group was feeding in tall goat weeds. After the shot the group scattered but had no idea what had happened. I saw the good boar moving back towards the creek so i started making a move on him. I was able to get set up and had him walk by at 15 yards and i dropped the string on him. Small hog ran 30 yards and the boar went maybe 100 yards. I was shooting my Bob Lee Ultimate 55# recurve with full length GoldTip 55/75s tipped with 100 grain inserts and 165 grain Zwickey No Mercy broad heads. Good luck to y'all this upcoming season and God Bless Clay

Thanks fellas, ain't nothing more rewarding than getting it done with traditional gear. I have bow hunted my whole life and love my Matthews but for the last 5 years I have mainly used my recurve or longbow and I can honestly say my time spent in the woods has been more enjoyable. Getting to where you feel confident in your abilities with traditional equipment is the hard part and learning to leave what your comfortable with at home (compound bow) is even harder but it is worth it. Having to watch a deer or pig walk by at 35 yards and just smile because you know you could have waxed it with the compound is a humbling experience. But, it made me a better hunter and I have come to be ok with passing animals and waiting for a better shot to present itself. Even if you never hunt with trad gear its worth finding a used recurve or longbow and shooting one, i'd bet money it improves your archery skills in the long run.
God bless Clay

That Zwickey did a job on them; I use Zwickeys with my recurve too and 200gn Muzzy Phantoms with my compound.
Good Job!
