what it is. Maybe 8/10 trees in small area. No livestock on property. Seeing a very high buck to doe ratio this year( seen over 15 diff bucks and maybe 4 does in a month) . Opinions if this could be a buck or no?

If that's a deer, your going to need a bigger gun.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

If that's a deer, your going to need a bigger gun. Buck will have neck muscle bigger than a Brahma.

I used a tree before as target practice with my 30-06. End result looked very similar.

That's your standard high-caliber rifle. dig into one of those trees $100 says you find a slug.

I agree with gun shots. Has anyone been around with a back hoe/Bobcat?

Are they all by chance facing the same direction? If so it's most definitely target practice

Top pic looks like tree is dying. the bark is pulling away from the trunk. If so, woodpecker.
Cast I have a short attention spa

The bottom pic is definitely a gun shot, find the slug. Then go find where they shot from and get the casing call the game warden if no one is supposed to be there. The top pic could be bullets but does look similar to tractor scraping tree with brush hog but nothing around looks mowed.

Tree is dead, and you can see the bark seperating from the main core of the tree. I'd say it's a woodpecker that is burrowing into the tree. The hole is too clean to be a gunshot.

What I think too. Looking under bark on weak, dying trees.
