I'd say you are dealing with a buddy who got ahold of your camera and changed the location out for you!

Tough to tell without a good pic of the head but most likely just a coyote. It's been so long since there were wolves in Texas that their offspring are certainly dead by now.
The color of the coat doesn't mean much. Coyotes come in all colors and not all red wolves are red.

Everybody thinks it's a coyote, but sometimes you have to wonder. I've shot a truckload of coyotes that all weighed around 20 to 30 pounds, but one fall day I shot one that was 50 pounds. Why was he so much bigger than any coyote I shot before or since? Danged if I know, but I have always assumed he was a blend of some kind.

How about a 1/2 Red Heeler 1/2 Grey Wolf.

I saw some TV show where they tagged a coyote and followed it and proved that some were interbeeding with wolves. Hard to tell about the one in the photo.

I agree that sometimes you have to wonder and yours may have well been a cross with something else, however on the other hand I see lots of people that are 5'9-6'2 on a daily basis but on a rare occasion you might run into someone who is 7' tall. Just using that as an example. Sometimes in nature, oddities happens that are just unexplainable. My vote goes to just a regular ole yote.

Haven't had wolves this far south for a long time.

I believe I'd be more worried about getting revenge on whoever changed the location name on my TC than whether a coyote is a hybrid or not
