I am looking for smaller grain options for
my 270. Mainly for varmints. Not interested
in saboted bullets.

Anyone have a source?? There used to be a guy
out of Vermont that sold ammo online and had
90 grain (there abouts) but I lost the link.

Check Conley Precision. If there is a bullet available, they can load it up for you.

Remington lists a 100gr PSP for the 270 on their website. According to Midway, it is a seasonal offering, so it might be hard to find.

If you reload, several manufacturers offer 100 and 110 grain bullets that can be loaded up to around 3400 fps.

Yeah I saw there was 100 grain option, but
I just can't dig them up anywhere. I don't
do any reloading, and likely won't.

Checked out Conley...... great suggestion but
the $42+ a box is too much for plinking varmints.
I am shooting an autoloader so tight groups aren't
going to happen.

Sierra sells the 90 grain varmint bullet. They shoot very well out of my rifle, and speed along at 3400+FPS.

I have shot some critters with them, including hogs. They are explosive. Small animals will be found in pieces, large animals like hogs will have an entrance wound, but no exit. The bullets literally fragment into multiple small pieces inside the animal. I shot a pig a little high and back from the shoulder. The pig dropped right there. When I cut it open, I found the bullet destroyed both lungs, and even fragmented into the intestines. Not a fun animal to clean.

The bullet is called Sierra Varminter #1800 (90 grain, flat base, hollow point)

A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

Several years ago I bought some Remington 270 in 100 grain in Gibson's Discount in Weatherford, Texas. You may want to give them a call. Telephone search for number.

.............
I've been reading about the lead in game meat and it's effects. Now I know why I have a lead bottom....

Gibsons in w'ford is the best. They have some (not all) very good and knowledgable guys working the gun counter.

Their number is... (817) 594-8711
