I just bought a Colt Model 357 and I'm going to begin my reloading with this gun. Plan on making up a batch of 38sp rounds with a Lee Loader and some components a friend bought me. I've read a little bit in this forum and a few other spots and I pretty much have no idea what I'm reading. I know what the various components are and know how they go together, but outside of that, I'm lost. I'm sure it will come to me with some more reading and practice, but right now I'm Anyway, not really much to say except for that. Expect a lot more ?'s soon.

Best if you find an experienced reloader in your area to learn from and not so much the net. I offer a basic class if interested. Link is in my handle.
Otherwise, read and re-read the instructional part of your reloading manual until it makes since.

Yeah, get a buddy to show you the ropes is the best way. You will learn more in an hour sitting down with someone that has done it before than in a week of reading books or the internet. Where are you located? Good Luck, Gary

I am in the same boat. My girlfriend purchased a Lee loader for my b-day and I don't have anyone else that I know who loads. Is there anyone near Ft Worth that would mind letting me sit in while they roll their own.

It's the hand loader. The guy who got it for me has used them forever and offered to show me what to do. That will be nice. He seems to know what he's talking about. Either that or he BS's really well

Look for instruction on youtube. There is a lot of info available on there. Anything from setting up your press (hand, singe stage, turret) to the actual reloading process.

I'm in the same boat, and I'm loading .357, 38 Special and .357 Maximum and also 45-70 and I've gotten a lot of good tips and instruction going to Ammosmith.com on YouTube.
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I'm sure I will enjoy it. I'm kind of meticulous and like to do stuff like this, so it's right up my alley. Just don't tell my wife how much a press and all the other equipment costs. She says I've got enough hunting and gun stuff already.
