 NW Texas food plot

Going to try my hand at a food plot this year, nothing big, just something around the feeder. I've got access to 2 tillers, and with this being sandy soil I figure it won't be too much work. What's a good food plot for very sandy soil along the Red River?

I think meth and weed grows well along the red river Never take your work home  Oats and Wheat BP, easy enough, I have a sandy loam and they do great. Probably do best if you till in some fertilizer as well, then rake/drag in the seed

Changed it to NW Texas, dang fat fingers and this iPhone got me again. This is extremely sandy soil, almost if not all sand. Where my stand and feeder is located I have a lot of Bermuda that 10 inches high right now.

I had a place that sounds a lot like what your saying, darn near like beach sand. I would definitely add fertilizer. Tilling the Bermuda in should help the soil, but it will probably come back thicker next year.

Winter Oats and Wheat are very hardy, sandy soil makes for easy digging!
