The time is flying by! 29 days til i getta head west! It is colder here in Ohio this morning than it is in Dolores! Yes Sir, but a little sooner for me. I am starting to feel the pressure of all the crap I need to get done before I go. Once you think you have all the time in the world, it is here and it becomes a scramble  Find my self daydreaming of past hunts everyday now, Thats why the best part is the memories of those years. This cool weather isn't helping either, makes my hairs stand up ready to head North West.

I have a short video on my FB page from a friend in CO. They did well on their bow hunt for elk. The video is a huge bull elk that came in within 15 yards of one of the hunters who had left his bow behind as he helped a buddy blood trail a wounded cow. Man it was NICE!

Just finished getting my $75.00 fiberglass top on my Ford. Not pretty but sufficient and effective for the purpose. Need to make the bed platform soon.

Sure quite in here, you fellas still going? Here I am getting so excited again, my wife told me "calm down, you have 3 weeks", wemmins, they just don't understand About got my reserve water tank almost back in, found the crappy gip board they originally used, had bowed to the point that allowed it to push through, damn thing was riding on one of the darn axles! Pulled the cheap [censored] angle iron they used and made a replacement out of 3/16" angle, crap they used was 1/16th! , this to hold up a 30 gal water tank SMDH Still have to wash it and check all the seals/caulk around everything on the roof, hook up the Tailgator  Kind of thinking I'd like to go a week early, but that amount of time by myself would get boring.

Yes, about 20-30 miles I'd say. I hunt 1st limited season (draw tag, bull or cow) Kickoff for me starts on 10/10/15 and runs through 10/14/15 2 years ago I hunted the same season and ended up having to buy a polaris 800, just to get close to my spot, it rained and snowed for most of my hunt and the days prior, was a muddy mess. Got my bull and thank goodness it was rocky enough to get to the FR where he fell, 1st bull I ever got out whole (was a MOFO by myslef, but the boards helped a ton.

You planning to swing over after your hunt? The boards look like they made it quit a bit easier. I plan on building a "shelf" in the bed of my truck with some 2x6s and plywood. Maybe we can shoot one in the road too and load it up right there. lol

This one I got last year on day 3 or 4 iirc, Same season yall will be there this year and same time Sneaky and crew where up there last year. Never worked so hard getting a bull out in my life, actually called the wife half way down and told her "this is my last trip, my body just can't do it anymore". Several people saw the bull go down and didn't offer to help, but sure wanted to pick my brain back at camp....They got bad misinformation too As you can tell, I elk hunt, not "trophy" hunt, as I only hunt Public land.
