So, I'm sitting on my back porch after driving home from a few days dove hunting and I can't help but to see several dove flying. Now I live outside the city limits on about a acre of land. We can shoot guns all we want, and several folks around here do. So, can you shoot dove as well. I always thought there was a 10 acre rule in there somewhere, but it don't make since to be allowed to discharge a weapon but not shoot dove. Anyone?

Depends on your county I believe. I know that a projectile may not leave your property boundaries

On an acre it would depend on your relationships with your neighbors.

On an acre it would depend on your relationships with your neighbors. My thoughts, not trespassing if you have permission. One of the places I hunt is an old family homestead, 3 acres max, but the important part is not only does the neighbor not mind if I shoot birds on his side, he encourages it.

I really don't intend on shooting birds here. It was just one of those thoughts while sitting out back. Not that I haven't pondered the idea. Just wondering out loud.

Could be some problems on 1 acre.
A hunter must be 600 feet from the nearest private property line.
hunt in a subdivision on lots 10 acres or less in an unincorporated area of a county if the commissioners court, by order, prohibits the discharge of a firearm or the use of archery equipment in such subdivisions. (Contact local county clerk and ask about §235.022, Local Government Code.)

Some cat food and an air rifle don't hurt.

Where'd you pull that from? Seems out of context. That sounds like a rule applicable in some places while hunting on public property.

People shoot guns out here all the time. I've even chambered a few rounds. The hunting aspect is what I'm referring to. I know it's legal to shoot here.
