Hi I am looking for anyone who runs rabbits with beagles or similar dogs. Does anyone know any groups that do this or is Texas a state that really doesn't rabbit hunt? if any one does or is interested I have a beagle that I am currently working a beagle who is 16 weeks as a solo but would like to get him to work with other dogs.

Try the search feature on the bar across the top. Search beagle, rabbits, etc and you should start turning up some past topics.

Man that's a diein bread of hunters your hunting. Ive hunted with hog doggers and that just didn't appeal to me. The dogs get the worst of it, trust me. I had dogs that would naturally hunt with me when I was a child. rabbits coons tree rats ect. I have a real good friend that used to have beagles and hunt the bottoms, but he is about 80 now and the dogs are long gone. Good luck, rabbit dogs get it naturally and will hunt till the cows come home. They are special that way. I had one that would hunt the neighbor hood for a few days at a time. He would be so wore out that he would lay on the porch for a day, and then go right back at them the next day. Ever herd the term hunt them down like a dog. Now you have. My neighbor in that old neighbor hood of mine said, dude that beagle was under my house at 4 in the morning howling at a rabbit. haha . I had to give him to a beagle guy out by the river bottoms, so that little jewl could do what he loved most. run rabbits.

Got 8 & love 'em. Got a couple invites to bring a pack to TX & I've been thinking about it for a few years now. Want to go when it's "cold" as I've had dogs bitten by Copperheads but don't want to take the chance w/ a Rattler....

Forgot that my fathers father always had beagles. Its been a while. Pa-paw died when I was a teen. He ran rabbits in the bottoms of east tx.

Check here for a local group. I used to run with some folks down around Lake Whitney. We used to run varying hares with them as a kid as well. http://www.arha.com/
