Hello hunters! Do you use some equipment that is able to expand the sound of an animal that is distant but does not increase the sounds that are coming? Trying to explain, I can be close to a creek or some noisy bird that keep me from listening to the sounds of an animal that interests me and is farther. Thanks.

The muffs aren't going to work. They will just amplify the noise he is trying to hear beyond. I think the only realistic option is a parabolic mic, but it will still have some issues as well with high ambient noise. Here is an example from Youtube

KZ Any other Leight, or other brand electronic models - Peltor etc - with better than 22db noise reduction ratings that this unit is rated at for a step up option? Also need to buy some new ear plugs to supplement DB reductions at the range, and mebbe to hunt with, and not have to wear muffs in the field...my wife is onto the fact that I can and do ignore her, claiming selective hearing Who ME??? NOT Me!!! Not after 48 years and learning to hear the Whine in her voice coming before she speaks. Need to buy something right now and had been looking at Amazon and a few On Line distribtors other vendors over the last week or so ... anybody's selections and prices better than Amazon's? Ron

How not understand the English language (I use a translator) had a doubt about this amplifier video posted by Double Naught. He is able to capture a sound to 150 feet (the song of a bird, for example) and set aside another that is close, about 30-40 feet? It looks very nice but if it were smaller would be better to take the backpack. Is there smaller models, even if they have less power?
