I wasn't aware we had any of these in southeast Texas, but a friend who would know says he just saw 2 on the west side of Lake Conroe (Montgomery County). I did some checking on the Web and it said they occur all over the state, but in low numbers.

Have any of you seen red foxes?

I know of two separate dens just south of Abilene one on our place and another about 2 miles down the road.

Trapped a few out in Texarkana when I lived there, and have called a few out by Hobbs, NM. Hear reports of them occasionally around Abilene, but not many.

Have a beautiful tanned red fox hide. Killed him a few years back near Paradise in Wise county. See a lot more grays though.

God is so good to me.

I've never seen a red this far south. In Colorado they are everywhere.
