I wasn't aware we had any of these in southeast Texas, but a friend who would know says he just saw 2 on the west side of Lake Conroe (Montgomery County). I did some checking on the Web and it said they occur all over the state, but in low numbers.
Have any of you seen red foxes?

I know of two separate dens just south of Abilene one on our place and another about 2 miles down the road.

have trapped and called them for years around coke county. not as common as the grey, but see em on a regular basis

Trapped a few out in Texarkana when I lived there, and have called a few out by Hobbs, NM. Hear reports of them occasionally around Abilene, but not many.

seen them dead on the road around Miles,tx a couple times. Heard of some around Brady and saw one dead at Graham

Have a beautiful tanned red fox hide. Killed him a few years back near Paradise in Wise county. See a lot more grays though.
God is so good to me.

Theres alot in the grove between temple and gatesville.I see them all the time crossing the roads here.

I've never seen a red this far south. In Colorado they are everywhere.

There are a lot in Texas actually. We are starting to see more & more in our part of the state now where before there wasnt any.
