I was first going to try a head shot but them suckers were just cleaning up corn fast and furious, i couldn't get the sucker to be still long enough. I finally waited a bit and decided if i didn't shoot i wouldn't get another chance so i shot it in the top of the body, and the bottom of the neck in a little triangle spot Where the skin meets the feathers. Talk about ethics, the guy I was referring to was actually the instructor in my hunter education class!

I like the .22 for turkey. When I am trying to ambush it is easier to move around with the small rifle. Plus I either hit or miss cleanly. I have been able to re position and get a second shot on the same group! I have also seen a hunter last year pump 3 rounds with a 12 ga and send the wounded turkey to the brush never to be found. One guy killed two with one shot with his 270. Use whatever you feel comfotable with. The art of turkey hunting is in the calling and stalking.
