I bought some 4' x 6' box blinds off of Craigslist and I need to repair/replace some of the exterior panels. They're square tube-framed with 1/4" ply and chip-board walls and they're HEAVY as all get out. I'd like to be able to move these around a little bit, so I'd like to use a lighter material without but get the same or similar durability. Does anyone use anything besides ply for the walls of their box blinds?

I use metal. You can buy the metal that they make r panel out of. You can get it in rolls or cut to length. Lightweight and it trims out nice.

I've been thinking of using that corrigated plastic roofing for my next one. The stuff is just light as could be. The only concern I have is it may be a bit see through.

we have used metal and plywood . plywood has better insulation but is heavier , metal is durable and light but echoes unless well insulated

I'm sure I'll hear arguments on this, BUT... once dry, a/c or b/c grade exterior plywood won't weigh a significant amount more than R-panel(metal) It's quieter, and a much better insulator.
If the tube frame is in good solid condition, just use 1/4" plywood and the weight shouldn't be an issue.

Just under stand that they are 42in wide when not rolled/formed. They make great deer blinds, but just be aware you will have to make adjustments b/c they aren't a true 48"

stuff works great - you can get them in different shades (just add some insulation behind it)

I use unprimed hardboard siding 4x8 sheets (can sometimes be picked up straight from the manufacturer at a great discount for a bundle of 2nds)

I use used privacy fence for my deer blinds, tool shed, ATV storage shed. You are limited to 6 ft high (unless you can maybe find 8 ft fence) but you can make it any size, but it won't be as airtight. It doesn't get that cold in Texas. Most of my blinds are 4 x 6 or 4 x 8.

Doesn't get that cold in Texas? I think the coldest I've ever been is in West Texas blinds before daybreak.
I built one last year and over built it. 4 by 8 and 6 ft tall. The sucker is so heavy that I had to use a front end loader to put it on a tandem trailer. Angle iron frame, 3/8 plywood, rolled roofing topped with sheet metal above. It is my first ever carpeted blind with roofing felt under the carpet. I won't be moving it around any.
I have a store bought one one that is 4 by 4 and 20 years old. It's in bad shape and no longer holds my Grandson and I. However, it still keeps the rain off and most of the wind out. It's a pretty good magnet for wasps, buzz tails and black widows.
Actually, I seldom use my blinds. I have noticed that deer look at the blind to see if I'm in it. I generally hunker down in the brush away from the blind with a comfortable chair, Louis L'Amour, portable radio with ear plugs and a cooler.
I have saved some old fence wood with the idea of cutting out some shooting slots. I figure to put in a V shape with posts at ends and middle. It's dirt cheap and I think would be effective. Like you, I've made several sheds with fence wood. It's good stuff.

We use masonite that has wafer board on the inside, we paint both sides, sturdy and waterproff.

i deliver commercial glass and am always scavenging for materials..I built an awesome blind from air conditioning metal duct..It had the black coated insulation inside..the units were thrown away in the dumpster..they measured 4x4x4.i cut two into and spread them about two feet apart and used plywood to splice them togeter for the top and bottom..I cut one shooting rectangle and an area for the back as a door and made a wooden door...now when it gets cold outside it really stays warm inside..but when the temp is 70+ it gets pretty warm..i also paint it evergreen green total cost 10 dollars for paint and the rest was scavenged from job sites! I also layed this unit on top of a free wooden pallet...

I use felt that i get at the paper mill i work at. It is free and will never rot. Friend of mine bought some billboard sign material from someone in Dallas that takes them down and they work great also. They are made out of heavy tarp like material.
