Just tire kicking the idea of a new shotgun. It would be used for dove, varmints, and a few skeet shoots.

Prefer synthetic, No Camo, No Benelli SBE 2, I don't need 3.5" but I do need it to be able to cycle $6 dove loads

What else it out there?


I handled a Benelli Ethos at Cabelas and it was pretty dreamy feeling but so was the price tag for a "hunting" gun

Look at the stoeger M3000 it's only 3" and it cycles the cheap Walmart dove loads just fine. Same inertia system as the benelli made by same mother company as benelli. The black synthetic ones run around $500ish

Beretta 390 is the lightest "felt recoil" shotgun I own.

Something gas operated. My Mossberg 930 is quite nice.

Kinda seems to be a pattern with BIL and recoil...IJS as my bride would say.

410 shotguns don't recoil much...

I have a Remington 11-87 with the sims recoil pad. Very soft shooting and cycles the cheap dove loads just fine.

I picked up an ethos last year and it is by far my favorite shotgun to shoot. Shoot the cheapo rio shells and haven't a hiccup. If you are around Sachse or Carrollton I can let you shoot it if you would like

My Remington 11-87 Premier Light Contour is the lightest shooting 12 gauge I have ever shot, but Ive never tried those expensive benelis.

On the flip, the hardest kicking shotgun would the lightest, single-shot or pump you can find.

Winchester SX3 and that coming from a Beretta guy.

Blush in a box, you show more class than I would have expected. Really stands out with garlic flavored Ruffles. I don't often drink wine, but when I do its always from a box.

Recoil is determined by many variables such as shell size, type of gun, weight of gun, type of recoil pad. If you want the least amount of recoil you need to shoot a 2 3/4 shell from a heavy gas operated gun with a good recoil pad. If you want to feel the thump try a 3 1/2 shell from a single shot gun. If recoil is affecting you then be sure you're properly shouldering your gun.

The new Rem Versa max has noticeably less recoil than the other late model ones like benelli, beretta, winchester, etc. But I shoot the latest A-5, mostly dove hunting, shoot mostly low brass 7.5 winchester. I'm sure all the high power 3.5in loads will push back in all of'em.

Beretta A300 Outlander... Less money than the A400, cycles dove loads without a problem.

How does that Kick eeze system work on Berettas? Good stuff or is it marketing?

I currently have an older 1187. Nothing wrong with it , I was just wondering if there was something new to be lighter kicking. Its not bad, but I kinda want to put it away for my son when he gets bigger.
