Pair a gas operated semi with a 7/8 oz 2 3/4" target load and except for the sound you won't even know it went off.

I can shoot two rounds of sporting clays with my sx3 in a tee shirt and not feel it later. If you're really a pansy you can get a beretta with the kickoff system, that's what my 110 lb wife uses to sling her 3.5's at snows

I have an Extrema 12ga with the kick-off system. I've used it with loads as light as 3/4 oz with no problems. On a lark, and with permission from the range owner, a group of us shot a complete round of skeet (100 shots) using nothing but 3.5" duck/goose steel shot loads. The kick-off reduced the recoil to what you might feel from a 1 1/4 oz 2 3/4" load. All of us were rather amazed at how much lighter the recoil was. (it did a number on the targets as well!)
I've been partial to the Beretta's for a while. They fit me well right out of the box and felt recoil is minimal. find a used 391 somewhere and you'll be good to go.

Pay it forward - Kids are the future.
Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

Beretta Extrema is the lightest kicking shotgun I own and have ever shot, but I still like my Ithaca 37 a little more. My wife says get a 22 with rat shot if you're that scared of recoil

Remington 1100 is the lightest recoil.
Lightest recoil in a shotgun you can depend on? Beretta.

Just tire kicking the idea of a new shotgun. It would be used for dove, varmints, and a few skeet shoots.
Prefer synthetic, No Camo, No Benelli SBE 2, I don't need 3.5" but I do need it to be able to cycle $6 dove loads
What else it out there?
I handled a Benelli Ethos at Cabelas and it was pretty dreamy feeling but so was the price tag for a "hunting" gun Sissy.

BIL, just go with a 20....you're giving up very little in lead and even less in pattern. If needed you can always use 3" shells.
Do not trifle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I have a Weatherby SA-08 12ga and it's a joy to shoot dove with. I swear it kicks less than my full-size Rem 1100 20ga, and it won't break the bank.

Benelli Montifeltro (SP) the 20 weights just 5.5 lbs. and handles 3 " shells. Super light and no felt recoil compared to the other shotguns I own. Far and away my favorite to shoot all day.
