stopped by gander mountain yesterday and learned a few things
1) Adjustable gas blocks are designed to make the gun quieter
2) Twist rates determine accuracy. A 1 in 9 AR can only be accurate to 100-150 yards
I learned a lot

I learned a lot I hope the instructor was selling fishing tackle.

I thought you was trying to be serious for a second. I thought someone was going to have to drive over there and punch you in the neck.

when the gun counter guy said that to another customer i looked at him with a bewildered look. After that he let me know that had a used CDL stainless for 1200...
Apparently berrata 391s can't work in cold weather...better let the duck hunters know that
also the gun counter guy has a cmmg sbr so he knows what he is talking about

Technically, isn't he at least somewhat correct about the twist rate, giving him the benefit of the doubt that he still would acknowledge concerns over heat, windage, scope and mounting options, barrel length and condition, barrel accessories, bullet weight, flinching, and Parkinson's disease?
Have fun, be safe.

Things I've learned from Gander Mountain:
If you wear a Gander Mountain shirt, you automatically are graced with the overwhelming knowledge of how to sound stupid every time you open your mouth.
You also know more than anyone and will tell the customer what you want them to hear instead of what is factual and may not lead to a sale.
The prices are higher than anyone else and getting any help takes an act of congress.
All of which ensure I don't step foot in Gander Mountain.

Oh, the prices! I never go in there with the intention of buying firearms from them because they are overpriced, even when it comes to transfers only. Who honestly expects someone to pay $60+ for a transfer? But, it is a good place to get a hands-on feel for certain guns that would otherwise be unavailable in other shops. The other good thing about Gander Mountain is that the girls that work in the clothing department are usually pretty cute Now, Bass Pro, on the other hand, is overpriced too, but sometimes they have a good deal on certain ammo, and they also have an indoor archery range.
Have fun, be safe.

They may be dumb, and have high prices, but the GM in Mesquite is the only place in DFW that carries my hunting ammo for the 460Mag, and it's $20 a box less then online retailers. Still, at $54 for 20 rounds it ain't cheap, but they get my business

Guess I am dumber than most people. I was in Gander Mtn complaining about how I didn't want to fight the traffic down to Allen to buy from Cabela's. Gander Mountain matched Cabela's advertised price, saving me both time and truck expense. Course that wan't as dumb as the time I bought .44 special ammo from CTD for online price because no other stores in N. Texas had any in stock. Guess I should have just sat around with a new pistol and no ammo???
