Does anyone have plans for a 6x8?

Not being a SA, but why would you need plans if know the dimensions already? Just decide on window height which all of mine are 35'' with deer view windows, don't start building until you get the windows.

Not as hard as you think, if you can read a tape you should be able to build a box blind. Essentially your building a square and blacking it in kind of like a house but extremely more simplified. I would suggest framing the base with 2x6's then covering it with 3/4 ply for the floor. Next the walls, frame the walls with 2x2's one side 2in taller and make the tall side the front which where I suggest putting the door. The top/roof, frame it to fit inside the top of the walls and make sure to measure how much over hang you'll need to extend past the walls because you'll need to remove it to put the ply on. Once you've framed the walls and roof, get it is as square as you can and put the ply on. I suggest when framing the walls not to put a bunch of screws to the base and matching walls so you'll be able to disassemble once you have finished applying the ply just one on top and one on bottom will hold for squaring (when you get in the field you can put as many as you want). I cut my windows at 35in high just my preference. Take your time, measure twice cut once.

6x8 is awful big, mine is 4x6 and it is big enough for my grown son, grandson and I together. Also the weight factor for moving and setting up will be a lot more. Our single person blinds are 4x4 and one is 4x5. But I can't judge now, since I can no longer climb into blinds or walk the pastures I hunt from the bedroom windows in the cabin, the bedroom is 8x12, it was built in place never to be moved.

You said it DC. It's big alright. I designed mine to be modular but the walls are still heavy. It sure is comfortable and when broken down for transport it fits on a 6X10 foot trailer. I have not elevated it beyond 4 feet and I have stairs for access. It's first year was spent as a ground blind.

It'll be very comfortable, last one I built was 4x8 and that extra 2 ft you are putting on will make for some nice leg room.

The last 3 I built this year were 7x7 with a 3' porch. I built the base 10x7 and put the blinds 12' in the air

I have built 4x6 blinds and some larger ones. I have hunted out of 6x8 blinds. I can tell you this with the 4x6 that if you use a larger office style chair with arm rests, you will not be able to move the chair around very well on the 4' width. It gets very tight with 2 and with 3 it is very very tight. If you add window rests/shelves it gets even worse. The 6x8 blinds had 8" shelves on all sides just below the windows and it was comfortable with 2 people but with 3 people it got tight. I have built some 7x10 blinds and they were big for one hunter and great for 2-3. Lot of room.

my Daughter and I hunted as a guest last year out of a 4x8 and as stxranchman said it was very tight with the chairs.

Bigger is better

Especially with blinds. They all seem to get small once you put some stuff in them.

Tell me about it, try packing 2 kids with you.

I've found 4x6 ideal for two hunters. Once you get in stand don't move around a lot. However, if you wanna dance will need to get a larger one.

4x6 is fine if you do not have to move around and you are only hunting deer in one or two directions from the blind. The rodeo starts when the buck is chasing a doe in 3 or 4 directions.

Build it big, be comfortable, hunt longer.
