Just downloaded it on my 5x and this was the first time I did not have to do a hard reboot it did it all on its own. But my question is Zoom Position , Center or Reticle? I don't see any difference.

You lost your zero settings, so "center" and "reticle" are the same. Eventually, you'll want reticle.

Jeez, I've been out of town a week and there's two new updates ! I've been hunting with the .246 version, I hope the .253 version is an improvement.

I am fairly certain the firmware is locking the xsight.bin for a very specific reason, and it is because the firmware does now have the ability to reboot without the user dropping the batteries. With the file locked, the scope isn't able to infinitely attempt to update the firmware unless the user intervenes and unlocks the file.

I just loaded .253 into my 5x. The initial load went smoothly, but I had to drop the batteries to get it out of the WiFi loop. Then I ran through my settings and turned WiFi "ON," and then couldn't get it to turn off, even after removing the batteries and starting all over again. I had to go back to .248, then back to .253 to get rid of WiFi. Now the scope won't stay turned off after powering down; I had to drop the batteries again. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

With the file locked, the scope isn't able to infinitely attempt to update the firmware unless the user intervenes and unlocks the file. Which sort of sucks if you have multiple scopes to upgrade and you intended to use a single SD card to do it all in one session.

I'll try that, s6275, and see how/if it works, and report back. Thanks for the suggestion.

Mikei, Im having the same issue, also had this problem with 248 and i tried the factory reset with this one also and it does the same thing, so reformat the card and reinstall and pull the batteries and card during the wifi config and dont enable it and you can use the sight.

I'll try that, s6275, and see how/if it works, and report back. Thanks for the suggestion. Black buttons/ non-threaded objective on yours, or is yours the newer threaded-objective, red-button model?

Mine is the black button model. Non-threaded objective lens. I tried the "factory settings reset" exercise and it did not work; as a matter of fact, I got no response when I pushed the buttons asking for a factory reset. I've pulled the batteries to get it to shut down. I'll try to get out tonight and see what's working with the new release.

Mine did the first phase fine, but on reboot/config, it hung at 30%. I had to loosen the battery cap, and force a reboot. After that it did complete, including wifi.

From their Facebook page
ATN The only change made was to fix a glitch that caused the device to reboot.

I have the newer threaded with red buttons, But im going to call ATN on Monday to see if they will swap it out for a 3X if not Im just going to send it back and wait for my refund to buy a 3X

I don't think you'll have much luck there. People with RMAs are being told 4-6 weeks for repair or replacement of the same model. Hopefully they are preoccupied meeting those customer's needs and not accepting swap-for-the-other-one-just-because requests at this time. Refund is probably the way to go, and good news: there is a veritable salad bar of reasons you can list for returning it!

I just loaded 253. Still hangs during configuring wifi. Not even going to try to turn on wifi. It will undoubtedly lock the scope.
Anyone know what bug fixes this addressed?

I think they have stated (on Facebook) that it was to address a boot-loop condition.

I hope hanging up in configuring wifi is next. That was reported during beta testing, was hoping it would be addressed.

I think they have stated (on Facebook) that it was to address a boot-loop condition. Post link for this, all I've read is what Scott country posted on their FB. ATN left the change log of 248 on the firmware page for 253 which is not helpful. I'm going to review footage from last night later today to see if viewfinder and video out are synced for brightness.
