I wonder if anyone else has had this problem? My 5x won't recognize that there is new firmware on the card and prompt me to download it into the sight. I've reformatted the card multiple times, and still no joy. If I put the old firmware back on the card and put it back into the sight, I get the download prompt just fine. Any ideas?

OK, just back from the range. While the external battery works in day mode I do not believe it's working in night mode. It asks how you want to use it but while attached in night mode it sucked my batteries quickly (Lithium) and if you take the battery cap off the scope shuts off. When I got home I tested again in day mode and it will stay on but if you switch to night mode while the external is hooked up and the cap is off the scope turns off.
I did have some flickering on medium while videoing with wifi on but after changing to high and back to medium it went away.
One shot zero worked very well at 50. I didn't shoot any further because it was windy and dark. You can't even really see a 17 hole at 50 at full magnification. It's too bad this scope couldn't have a little optical zoom instead of all digital but it is what it is.
My videos turn out a lot better on the computer than what I can see in the viewfinder. I thought 200 was pretty much the limit of what I could see at night at the range but when I watch the video on the PC it's a lot brighter than what I could see in the scope.
I'll get it back out in the day time in a little less wind to check zero @ 200.

updated mine and it the scope is just not working.
I have been out testing tonight with a half moon clear night, should be a good night to test.
My results are very disappointing as the scope doesn't even reach out 50 yards. I can see further without the scope than with it. I have played with the setting for an hour but to no betterment.
the green screen is red, and the white is so dark it is hard to see anything.
Guess it times to send it in and hope they can do something with it.

So i just got back from some night time fun, I wasnt able to get wifi working with this update. But what I've seen so far I can run completely off a external power supply including start up, no batteries in at all. My zero changed to X8 Y90 from X8 Y100, not a big change. If i stop recording while zoomed in i had the screen flash all the way zoomed out and then return back to zoomed in, I also get one reticle move, from zoomed all the way out to the next zoom it just slightly but thats its only move otherwise it centered the picture while magnified to max Standard setting was much clearer with far less blur and ghosting. I still have no flicker in night mode medium setting. on low i did have flicker but i noticed turning the screen brightness down to 2, made it virtually gone. but switching into high or low would cause a reboot every now and again. but picture seems to be better. after i completing the update i put new batteries in Energizer ultimate lithium's and have around 5 hours on them and still going strong. Overall i think they hit the basics on the head. i shot around 120rds today with no issues

Bob: I will let you know in about an hour. Seemed like mine did that on .228. Probably tied to a contrast issue. Update: just took it outside. 100 yds to the tree line. Looked ok with the UNV20ir. No perceptible issue with dimming. Will check again tomorrow night. Cool...just to clarify when you turn on your IR the screen doesn't get bright and then dim right down. Mine would dim to pretty much the same brightness for all 3 levels of the IR.

/MKL Louie I don't think that is going to help others are having the same issue.

MKL -
Reverting to an earlier version and disabling WiFi and reinstalling 248 will not solve it.
For me WiFi isn't going to be available in 248.

You can solve the loop issue with loading .246 then to .248, but as pointed out by HTH leave WiFi off or you fall back into the rabbit hole.
As a point of interest are you running an old body style scope? I am wondering if the old ones have this issue but new models do not?

Anybody have an idea why this would work for kohj but not for me? Why it would work for me in day mode but not in night?

One thing about loosing focus, Sachal told me it's possible a loose screw holding the lens. Checked the small holes on the body with an allen key, left one was really loose and after tightened it, and with only 10 shots testing, no more loosing focus. Need to do some more testing to say that it solved the problem.

fr3db3ar, It may just be the power source your using. The initial surge of power needed may be alittle to much for a standard USB port which will see a power drop on current draw initially, the setup im using i custom made using a Castle Creation BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuits) wired to a female usb plug. I can use high voltage/amp batteries and the BEC will keep constant power up to a 10amp draw. Im using a 14.8 volt 2250mah pack. have you tried a good wall charger to see if that works, something with 1.5 to 2.1 amps

OK, I've got .248 loaded into my 5-18. ATN says that it is possible to take still photos while in the video mode, but they didn't provide a step-by-step process to do this. Could someone please tell me how, once I'm taking video, to take a still pic? Thanks!

Thanks, deereguy. I tried that but got no indication that a picture was taken, and then, when I dumped the mini-SD, there were no still images on it.

So i have tried to all combos of firmware upgrade to the 248 and also tried to copy of the wifi config files and no joy. so looks like some of us SOL for now with wifi, I did notice that the last install of 248 i had a very notable amount of flicker compared to last night in the woods. i adjusted it to the same setting and seems much worse today.
