-Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

Absolutely NO to gun control. It is and should be only the parental responsibility NOT THE GOVERNMENT to address the safety issues concerning our children and our guns. The government has no right and no authority to "AMMEND" our "Right to Bear Arms". Furthermore the thieves who obtain everything illegaly anyhow WILL STILL HAVE AND BE ABLE TO GET GUNS. I KNOW I HAVE 2 UNCLES IN OUR WONDERFUL PRISONS WHO HAVE NO PROBLEM STAYING IN TROUBLE DOING EXACTLY THAT GETTING WHAT THEY WANT EVEN THOUGH IT IS ILLEGAL. That is precisely why the average Joe LIKE ME has the right which should not be infringed upon to have and control their own guns. Hunting, and Shooting and the outdoors are just some of the freedoms we (I) enjoy with my family and children and we do it safely. No sorry "Common Sense Measures" No repealing of the Tiahart Act, NO to the closing of the gun show loop hole No to the "Assault Weapons Ban" There is no such thing. Only single, SEMI-AUTOMATIC and double action rifles, and pistols. Those are the real definitions and they are designed and built for sport shooting, and hunting. Looks and colors like the "Black Guns" are of no consequence. Simply fads, and neat by design. These are all SPORTING ARMS! For crying out loud. Have you been to a gun show? They are not crawling with lunatics. They are crawling with good people of all walks of life with similar interests. NO! NO! NO! You were hired to represent us. Please stand up and do it!

Don't worry. All of the liberal gun owners I know - including some on this forum - say that Obama has way too much to worry about with the economy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. According to them, our guns will never be restricted or taken away by Obama.

Wasn't Chet Edwards the one that Nancy Pelosi wanted for VP? I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for his help. Unfortunately for those who live in the real world, the liberal gun owners were fooled again.

OK guys, Chet Edwards gets conservative Texas democrat "religion" when back in Texas, especially near re-election time. He is a total poser. When in Washington with his lib buddies, his voting record reflects a lot more San Francisco values than Texas values. His NRA ratings and other measures that would be important in Texas only look good near election years. His F rating was when he didn't have to worry about getting voted in that year. You believe whatever you want. My grandpa taught me a long time ago that you could tell a man's real character by who his runnin' buddies are. If you're friends with Nancy Pelosi, I ain't likely to be your huckleberry. You are welcome to believe in the Easter Bunny if you like. Go ahead, go to his websight and drink the kool-aid.

Food for thought: In the last congress, Chet Edwards voted with the Democrat majority (including Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank) 96% of the time. I am not trying to pick on anyone's favorite home skillet, but we have to be concerned about the gun grabbers and their friends. If they made a movie about this guy's record in congress, the title could be "Voting with Miss Nancy". When Nancy and Barney vote to make the so-called Assualt Weapons Ban a permanent law, you can bet your hind end that Chet Edwards will be voting with them.
