Anyone have any plans for a chicken coop? I was given 4 chickens this week and I plan on getting about 4 more.

Went 4x8, to reduce material cost. I made the bottom half open wire, so they can peck about with the door closed. Top half is closed, with windows on three walls. Tin roof, and covered with cedar planks. Having the coop up a bit off the ground is key. Neighbors with theirs on the ground have had rat problems, but we haven't. YMMV. Adult beverage holder is mandatory...

Best piece of advice I'd give is to keep telling yourself "it's just a chicken coop", as you buy materials and start building it. It's easy to get caught up in the process and let material cost and time spent get way out of hand.
Some of the coolest coops I've seen were made with miscellaneous leftovers.

Ha! That was the case with ours as well. A couple years ago, I bought some cheap plastic netting, to add two feet to our inner fence. Now the hens mostly stay in the outer yard, and our porch is poop free. But the woman was just asking me when I was gunna' get around to making our "temporary" fix permanent. Ive got a big coop but my chickens spend 90% of their time crapping on my back porch
