I may not agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it! (Paraphrase of a famous quote) Censorship in any form is wrong in my opinion. S6275 should be able to post his opinion/feelings about the fiasco that is ATN's X-Sight product release. I too am very frustrated by the way things have been handled by ATN. Let's look at some facts.
The X-sight was release before it was ready to operate to ATN's own specs.
It has been months and it still does not operate as advertised.
There are issues beyond the firmware that are not really being addressed (i.e. bad mounts with too much play requiring shims)
Are they working on it, yes. Will it be fixed soon, anyone's guess.
Are there buyers out there who still can't use the scope, yes.
I think it's ok to upset at the way ATN has handled this. I think it's ok to voice that frustration. Does it help get it fixed maybe or maybe not. But there is no way ATN should get off scott free after a disaster like this. I for one did not agree to be an "early adopter" I expect my scope to work just like ATN said it would. Why would I not believe them? No where on their site or in any of their advertising did it say the scope was in beta (even to this day).
So I understand the frustration that many of us feel. Is it Sachals fault, probably not. I don't know what role he played in the product release. But he has chosen or been task to communicate on the forum and he should expected to encounter frustrated buyers. I have not seen any personal attacks directed toward him, but complaining about the product his company sold should be ok. ATN deserves negative feedback on this.

All it takes is for one to click back a couple of pages to find some negative comments from you, friend. You're not a troll? Gotcha. Meanwhile, here is another nice picture of a black kettle.

All,
We are 99% confident that we have found the reason why the reticle at times is way off center. We will be conducting few tests next week and I will definitely keep you all in the loop.
Thank you once again

I Have to laugh at all this nonsense! But I cant defend ATN for one moment!. I thought the last comment from Sachal was a bit up his own rear end! We are the injured parties here, to say they want to get it right "this time" is a joke! It should not have been a compromise, the sight should have been good from the word go! I bought my first sight in January and sent it back the same month. I bought the second one at the shooting show on the understanding that the major problems would be fixed by the following week, then the week after and the week after! now who knows? And that's just the major problems, never mind those problems which still wont work but are advertised on their web sight, the box we bought our sight in as working..... Its a shambles to put in politely! And the forum is for every one! Not just those who seem to think that its okay to spend good money on a product that doesn't work... I have kept the second one because I like the concept of the sight and they probably will get it right in there own good time.. which is pathetic! My choice to keep the sight my choice to say what I like within reason!

Thank you once again OK...what? What is it? Why does it have to be a mystery? Off-axis holes? Design that made it too difficult to attach the mount "true" in the plant? Aliens? WHAT?

With so many post I am sure you probably didn't see this one so I'll repost it here.
Thanks
Sachal,
I am very happy to hear that firmware improvements are coming. Please don't take the frustrations sometimes expressed here personally. I know I don't have to tell you how many buyers feel after purchasing an X-Sight and finding all the issues. I know you and others are working as hard as you can to try to get the scope where it should be. I have a few questions:
You responded to one of my post a while back and said the next firmware release would be 2.0. Is the .234 firmware 2.0 or will that still be coming at a later date?
I've heard the contrast/dark image issue mention multiple times since .228 came out, is that something you are working on or does ATN feel that is a non issue?
I'm sure you read the post about shimming the mount to more closely align the scope with the bore. Some mounts are not straight others have too much play/movement. Is there anything being discussed at ATN relative to that issue?
Sorry if you have already answered any of this but I'd love to get the "current" state of things directly from ATN.
The free sun shades is very good news!
Thanks for taking time to give us updates! Please keep them coming.

Oldsnpr,
The .234 is the 2.0.
We are also addressing the mount issue and the NV brightness / contrast issue.

Sachal- I do not own an X sight yet, but have been following the threads on a few boards about them. I think your presence here on the forum will only make the product better. There will be some customers that simply cannot be satisfied- no matter what you do- and a group of people that will work with you to develop the product. It's great to see your presence on the board and I hope that we can get regular updates- both good and bad. Kyle

Hi THF X-Sighter's. Here is my report from the field today working on getting two 5-18's ready to wreak havoc on a large pig population SE of Taylor.
A few days ago I inquired here in regard to shimming. Yesterday I shimmed my 5-18 in the back yard sighting down the bore to a small target on the fence. I needed to go right and up. I shimmed using cut pieces of a soda can. Shimming the front to point left wasn't too difficult and I still had a good bite from the mount onto the rail of my Armalite AR-10. To bring shot placement up I had to shim a considerable amount under the rear of the X-Sight between the bottom of it and the rail. So much so that the rear grip mechanism to rail is what I'd call "barley holding on". I took the new 5-18 and trusty old rifle out to the stix today to sight it in so I can start hunting with it. And to meet my hunting bud to get his 5-18 mounted and sighted. Mine went pretty smoothe and the final three shots at 100 yards grouped tightly. The scope remained in focus, and the "barely holding on" held very well. I didn't use the zoom feature because I'm using .228 firmware and I can see very well at a mere 100 yards without zoom. So I'm ready to whack pigs at night, and a run out to the food plot revealed ample hogs are rooting and ripping fresh ground. I did the blue locktite gig posted by Hunt TX Hogs on my X-Sight a week ago. I had an enjoyable afternoon and if it weren't coming a frog strangler tonight I'd have remained until 1 or 2 AM and likely be posting my first night hog hunt using the X-Sight tomorrow. Time to mount and sight my buds scope now. Well, we tried anyway. We never fired a round with his new 5-18. It wouldn't focus, my bud was disappointed but I told him I had read here that some others had reported this and returned them and received a replacement. He's under the 30 days from time of purchase so he's going to return and request a new one be sent ASAP.
I'd like to thank those whom replied to my "what to use as a shim" post. We did sight in a laser for my bud on his designated X-Sight rifle so it wasn't a total loss on the day for him.
Cheers

I'm only up to page 14 of this thread so far. I was still posting in 2.0 I received the 3-12 and couldn't get it to focus a clear image at either 25 or 75 yards. The image through the app on my Note 3 was crystal clear. I ended up sending it back and the vendor said they didn't see an issue with focus. While this video is severely degraded by PB it gives you the idea of what I'm seeing at about minute 3.2 At full zoom the crosshair was still on the screen so at least that wasn't a great big issue. I now have a 5 on order and hope I'll be able to shim it close to center at the beginning. <embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid48.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Ff207%2Ffr3db3ar%2FDigital%2520scope%2520video%2FATNX0002_thm_zpstep4oxso.mp4&title=">

Dirt: hope your friend gets his sorted. Glad to hear you got your shimmed. I took mine out last night with my diet coke shim, and it did fine. 3 more coons down at 100+ yds.

Nice new feature inside the X-Sight, you can watch/delete what you captured in recordings. I will try if it's possible with the Android app as soon as i can.

It's a really handy feature and works well, the only thing I couldn't work out is how to get back to the reticle view from the captured recordings screen...

Focus Issue:
If you're having a hard time seeing the reticle , it's because you need to adjust the eye piece
You have 2 adjustments - one at front for distance - eyepiece adjustment for clarity of what's on screen
try it

Just wanted to make an announcement. We have fixed the reticle zoom. Now when you use the zoom, it zooms towards the center of the reticle and there is no shift in POI.
More update to follow.
Thank you all that contributed.

try it Reticle focus wasn't the issue on my amigos scope. We are aware of how to focus a reticle. He contacted the retailer today and they gave him choice, send him a new one or a return and a credit to his acct. He wants the scope. Cheers

Thanks for the progress report, that is good news.
I had a problem with mine holding zero, I took others advise and checked the base mount and bingo, every screw was loose. I hope this corrects that problem. Now if I can get it to focus we are making progress.
