How many here have walked this round out to 1000 and played around at that distance for a while now? Just taking notes.

fireman runs one right now. It is more than capable by far.

Been to 1430 yards with it.1k is an every day thing for a 6.5 Creedmoor and .260 Rem Of late the best target shots I've made with the 6.5 Creedmoor is my 7" square plate at 700 yards. Judd was watching it. He say "Dude! That's bada$$!" Chad was helping me spot another day. I managed it again, and in Chad's special way he say "that a baby, get some!" It's consistent, and the recoil is very mild. It may very well be my most favorite short action cartridge I've ever owned.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm thinking it's gonna be one of two choices. Buy a Savage LRH or ruin a completely good 700 in 270 to make a Remage with a sendero stock and heavy barrel. I was going to go with the 6.5X284 but the price of all the ammo components will kill my wallet. I can buy factory CM rounds for a while till I build up brass supply. Plus I just wanted to know it was plenty capable, not that I am yet. Lol

6.5 Creedmoor built on savage action here as well. Im not near as good as most of these guys on here and got a 2nd round hit at 1000 yds with a good caller after I first got the gun built. Thats with a shorter barrel than most are shooting as well. Its a great round.

Either way the wind read is much more difficult than the elevation. Without a doubt! That's where an education and a whole lot of practice come in.

Fireman I am in the process of getting rid of my MOA scopes and converting over to mils. Just picked up a premier 5-25x56 gen2xr. It will ride my 6 creedmoor I am planning on running a few matches with.

Why does Tikka not make a T3 in 6.5 Creedmoor? Or do they and I'm just missing it?

why not just buy the Savage n the creed? I did not buy this with the expectations of 1000 yr gun, hell these 74yr old eyes can't even see that far. but it shoots good enough for me, and I haven't found the sweet load yet

P-07, Beretta/SAKO/Tikka et al has only made 260's for the last couple years & in small limited quatities, but have made 6.5x55's forever. I suspect that B/S/T waited the 7 years or whatever to make 260's because of the Royalty aka Trademark Fees to drop off or be reduced....but then Remmy is NOT Noted for being the brightest marketing bulb in the box. We'll see if Hornady has been taking lessons from Remmy's marketing failures and make Licensing the mfg of CM stuff cheap enough aka desirable enough to entice other Mfg'ers to get on board the CM's and NOT 260's for a mid size VT/Target/Hunting caliber 'tween 243's & 270's to replace the no new growth aka dieing on the vine 25'06 bidnizz.
To see what a new caliber is going to be projected do Sales wise, watch the bullet mfg'ers new product intro's...or the discontinued's list. IMO the three 6.5's are the new 243 One Gun Do All for everything that Warren Page used to write about...GTG from Prairie Dogs to Elk, from GasGun platforms to 1000+ yard steel shooters in 6.5Swede, 6.5CM & 260Rem.
Right now Hornady prolly still owns 100% of the Royalty's on the CM's Original Patent's and want as much as possible in Fee's for a Mfg'er to make either brass and Rifles...and the jury for the Great Unwashed Everyday Hunter is still out on which one 'tween 260 & 6.5CM will become the dominent product.
Shades of the RSAUM x's WSM sales wars....that Winnie won....'cause they ain't room enough usually for 2 of these minor market impact products.
I'm already hearing that Hornady's dropping the RCM's ammo & brass...like Ruger has/or will soon for guns - look at CDNN closeout list for confirmation....and nobody's building any new WSSM's guns, ammo or brass either...same song all over again.
As an old Sales Manager of mine in the food bidnizz told me one time..."Volume trumps all Evils aka the shortcomings of a product". Ron
It is TIME for Term Limits, cause Politicians are like childrens diapers and for the same reasons...Robin Williams "These are the times that try men's soul's"...Thomas Paine

I'm with Colt45, I may not ever take a 1000 yard shot but I wanted to see if it could for future reference. I like the amount of energy this round has at any range too for hunting purposes and if I want to stretch my legs one day at Firemans range, I'll have what I need. I HATE that I didn't have enough confidence in my current set up to go out and play with y'all this year. Hopefully I'll be ready for next time. I'll have a grand to play with out of our refund and I think this is where I'd like to spend it. A heavy barreled 6.5 creedmoor. Doesn't that just sound sexy?

Nice! Exactly which model is that one sir? That's what I want Model 12 Long Range Precision (LRP). Haven't got to shoot it yet. Just got the scope and got it mounted this weekend. Bipod will be here today... Hope to get to the range for initial sight in and trigger time this weekend.
