I have decided that I would like to buy a pistol for CC purposes/home protection. While I have not seen it in person (also there in lies the issue) I have researched and decided on most likely a .40 PX4 Storm compact. Here is one of two questions: one I am to understand from Beretta's website that this had been released however I am having an issue finding it here north of Houston ( I have checked Academy, Gndr. Mtn. and Tomball Pawn ) They have all said that it is not out yet. Is this the case? Anyone have this particular pistol the good/the bad? Also if I can not find this one any suggestions on a .40 for this purpose? Thank you for the advice.

I really like Glocks. They the new SF (slim frames) are popular CCW's. Any sub-compact .40 is going to be fairly un-fun to shoot. I have the Glock 23 .40, it shoots really easy and is reasonable to conceal.
I'm not real big on Baretta's, I've had some reliability issues but that is probably associated with the M9.
If I didn't go with a Glock, I'd consider an H&K or Sig.

take a look at the Smith&Wesson M&P!! I carry the full size model and have no trouble concealing it, so the compact should be very concealable! Pistol comes with 3 different back straps so you can fit it to your hand. gun shoots very accurately and is without a doubt the fasting cycling semi auto i've ever fired. the clip release can be switched to either side also. i am extremely pleased with mine!!! full size is 15+1 and i think the compact is 10+1, check one out they are a fine handgun

Glocks are hard to beat. Sig is reliable and accurate. S&W M&P has a lot going for it. Beretta is probably fine, but I have not cared for the models that I have fired. Try to find a range in your area that has rental pistols. Nothing beats actually firing real-life pistols. This is a very personal choice. If you base your decision on "gun counter experts", you will probably regret it.
God is so good to me.
