Just got a Franchi 912 Variomax in trade for my Benelli Nova. Was it a good deal? I would like your opinions

It was a good deal, Variable gas system based on the 612, that shoots 3 1/2", Had one on order in the Green Kevlar, never did receive and it was highly disappointing. I have a 612 and a 620 that the wife and smaller family members shoot.

Benelli, through its Franchi line of shotguns, now offers the 912 Variomax 3 1/2'' magnum 12 gauge in a traditional satin-walnut stocked version complemented by high-polished blued metal and gold trigger. Based on the proven Franchi 612 design, the 912 uses the same type of lightweight receiver and multi-lugged rotary bolt that locks directly to the chrome barrel. Unlike other 3 1/2'' magnum shotguns on the market, this model has been engineered to handle light 2 3/4 loads up to the heaviest 3 1/2'' magnums. It has the softest felt recoil of any 3 1/2'' magnum autoloader on the market. Equipped with Franchi's innovative Dual-Recoil-Reduction System, the 912 Variomax regulates the amount of expelled gas, thus reducing recoil.

The gun is discontinued, but I see you read the article/review on it

yes it is discontinued but the reason it is, is because it was taking away from the SBE and the Extrema purchases
