Really great find Can only imagine all of the cool stuff that's out there buried right under the surface and we don't have a clue it is there

That is pretty neat. I was going to ask if it was loaded because it almost looks like the hammer is cocked, but you already answered that question. Did Chuck Conners used to live on your place?

That's an awesome find. I'd make a plaque for it and display it somewhere. That would be great and it almost deserves it. Over the fireplace or something. Bet the history behind it would blow our minds. Sure it provided more than a meal or two along the way. And how does it just end up laying on the ground? Maybe leaned up against a wagon and forgotten about when they rolled forward...maybe something wild. I like it!

I would do as MikeC suggested and make a plaque and hang it somewhere. Great piece of history.

It might be worth taking a metal detector out in that field when you have some time. No telling what else will turn up.

Very cool, I'd run a metal detector around where you found it and see if there's anything else around.
