I'm going to be looking for a chocolate or white lab for my family pretty soon, I'm familiar with bird dogs breeders and trainers but not so much the lab side of it. Anybody have some good recommendations? I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to buying a dog so I really like to do my research on the breeder, training, and bloodline before adding a hunting partner and family member. It will live with my parents but I'll be using it to duck hunt as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Not trying to stir a debate but I find that part of your post contradicts the remainder. Color of the dog should be the last factor that comes into play. Health clearances and the lineage should be a priority. Everyone has preferences just make sure they come into play in the proper place.

I don't care if the dog is purple, weighs 30 pounds, with three legs if it can get the job done. With that being said great dogs come in many colors. I hope you find what you are looking for.
