I hunted Stonewall and Kent Counties in the late 90's. A lot will depend on the ranch or location of the ranch. Some of the bigger ranches have really good deer. Even back in the late 90's some of the places had to many hunters on them for the amount of land and deer they had. Deer populations back then were light to moderate on the place we hunted. We killed deer between 140 and 170 with a few bigger deer seen but just not able to connect on them each year. We were hunting on 14,000 acres with 8 guns. Winter Wheat can be key for late season hunting in bad weather. We had 1 yr out of 3 yrs I hunted there with Spring and Summer rains. You get the right rains at the right time and that country can grow some great deer.
